PPP2 - STUDIO BRIEF 1- Manchester Art Gallery

Manchester Art Gallery

At the start of the year i highlight photography to be a weakness in my professional practise, this is in an attempt to improve this i aim to try to learn more about this subject area via experimenting with it but also by going to exhibitions to try to understand and learn for the artist themselves. To get better at a subject it's better to learn from the best, therefore the more exhibitions and events related to this area the aim is that i will be more inspired but also learn what makes good photography and how i can apply this to my work.

Currently there is a photography exhibition on at the Manchester Art Gallery by Martin Parr, this is one of exhibition i aim to go to as to learn from the work and to try to get myself more inspired by this medium of art.

PPP2 - STUDIO BRIEF 1- Zine Workshop :))

Zine Workshop

A 3rd year on the graphic design course last night put on a zine workshop, this was a free workshop where we could go and create zine. Zine are a very big part of the current graphic design trend that i don't know much about yet is very relevant therefor an area i should explore more, this would be a good chance to learn about this area.

PPP2 - STUDIO BRIEF 2 - Who to interview?2

Who to interview

As part of studio brief 2 for this module we have to conduct an interview with a professional, I'm personally nervous about this aspect of the module as i struggle with email and contacting anyone but feel it might be a good way to push myself and force myself to over come this. Currently it create anxiety to think about doing this but i understand that this is a needed part of the learning process as well as something i will have to conduct massively in the future and as to greater my networking(intern interview highlighted this) skills. Due to this, the of the interviewer, content and subject will be selected and use to benefit my current issues within my fields/design.

As i currently have no idea what i want to do in the future, or what path to take, or what to do after uni/how to do it after uni this contact with a working professional that has done this will explore their how their path after uni, there career choices, and other information around this as it could help inform mine. The aim is to help me decide on how to select a specliaiusm for next year, help me fid out ways of picking an area to explore therefor these areas will become focal point of the interview questions and the content.

The interview can be conducted over the phone, in person, over skype or over email. Personally i'd prefer to do the interview in person or over the phone or skype as this feel more personal, and give chance for a response which i can bounce off and give more relevant related questions. It makes the interview less closed more open answers, more in the moment natural responses, give chance to also meet the professional and to get to know them as a person as well as get them to know me aswell.
