PPP - STUDIO BRIEF 1 - Film Presentation

Over this year presentation skill are, specially my talking speed is an area aimed to be worked on. This is as the more nervous i get the faster i talk, this was feedback from last year to slow down the speed 'Try to slow down a little though when presenting as it was fairly rushed. Remember to breathe.' Thought the year there are a few different presentation where i can work on this, (brief 3, 505, ect) but also in this study task.

aims -

The task is to produce and present a verbal and visual presentation of a movie of my choice.
The aim of the presentation would be to communicate a synopsis of the movie in an engaging format. The presentation should be between 90 seconds and 2 minutes, with a further minute for questions.

As the area I aim to work on around the presentation is my talking speed for the film i wanted to pick a film i'm seen many different time and am very familiar with, this means i can focus on the speed as i will be already aware of the content and will be discussing an area i'm confident with. This also means i wont have to learn any new content or information of the presentation which could make me nervous as i forget the information, i can talk about an area i'm very comfortable with to improve my speed mainly also to get used to presenting to a group, the more i do it the more i'll be used to this situation.

Also i feel i get very nervous when the audeince attention is drawn to me, to avoid this i usually use very visually heavy presentation causing the audeince to focus on these over me therefor the film i select will reflect this as well. (VISUALLY HEAVY, FILM I KNOW WELL)

film - The Boat That Rocks

This is a film i used to watch all the time in high-school so i'm very aware of the simple story line, it's based in the 60's so the art direction/costumes are very busy/bright therefore fitting with the visual aim aswell.

One of the areas i was concerned about last year was the length of my presentation, i'm aware this could have been a defining factor in why i spoke so fast as i didn't want to over run. To make sure i avoid this factor in this presentation i'll practise and time myself before hand, whilst making sure the presentation is around the lower end of the time bracket.

summary -
in the 60's Britain played less then 60 minutes of rock music a day, to counteract this a range of pirate radio stations where set up off the coast that played rock music 24/7, this films follows the antics of one of these boats crew thought their daily lives whilst the government aim to shut down the site, the films is a comedy about the lives of the busy 'free love' cast members and the anti-fun tory government system of the time.

The film shot to fame due to it's all start cast, art direction, amazing wardrobe department and soundtrack.
