PPP - Website Development, Square Space

SquareSpace

Currently i've designed a range of website on different hosts, like square space, cargo and carbon made. Overall i'm still not happy with any of these, as they all have down falls. After researching how to get a personal email address as to appear more professional Sqaurespace seemed the best opinion, but before i buy this i aim to make sure i can create a website i'm happy with on the site. As a new user you get a 14 day trail, to test the style and designs this has run out of my old site so i will have to start for new, (which might actually be good because i didn't like that site.)

PPP3 -Self branding part 2

Self branding

As considered earlier, for this year i need to design a self branding identity for myself. At the start of the year i designed a small logo, just for my social media but over time this seems undeveloped. As i'm not starting my website and my portfolio for work placement, this needs more work.

MY NAME ON MY PORTFOLI/WEBSITE NEED TO BE THE SAME AS ON MY SOCIAL MEDIA

quick ideas -

 -unreadable/confusing

easily understood but too simple??

Currently i use Bethany as this worked for my current social media handles, but i actually call myself and go by more commonly Beth so this might need changing if possible.

CHANGED-

so now it's beth_fitton_, everything must be Beth from now on

WILL USE THIS FOR NOW

PPP3 - Dinosaur Placement

Dinosaur Placement

One of the biggest creative advertising studios is Dinosaur, I have emailed them in the past for COP without any responses. In spite of being unsuccessful in the past, this is one of the studios I'd love to do my placement, this is as it does briefs for large clients whilst having a very creative outlook on their outcomes. They're not just social or just digital, but cover both with fits with my interests.

They do placements, so aim to get a digital portfolio sorted and send out tonight. The aim of this is to get considered for a placement, even if this is not the case at least I can get feedback on my work or even advice for the future. Also setting this out will give me something I can send out whilst sorting out my website.

PPP3- Personal Email Adress

Personal Email Adress

This is an aspect that has been defined by many professional as vital to successful professional practice, due to this the aim is to create my own. Currently unsure how to do this, do I have to buy a domain first? or is it different?

-ask alec
-google it

Tutorial with Alec

as I'm slightly stuck with how to get a personal email address, I organized a tutorial with Alec to discuss it and also my worries about placements.

-squarespace has domain names and emails, but these might be tied to the site
-you can get them on other sites, like 123 reg
-square space might be easier
-get placements by stalking people, finding their tone and interest
-linked in isn't best for women, but white male run
-try dot

FEEDBACK ON WEBSITES -
the need to be clickable/have image pages
the gif work well
keep the gif but try a new layout
the original website works well for photography, not graphics
edit images so they don't crop, make them larger
the plain website is quite boring
lots of people have Squarespace
try a Squarespace one

Overall, I think square space might be the best option as it has a domain name, email and a decent layout.
