PPP - STUDIO BRIEF 1- Made You Look Documentary

The other day i went to Hyde Picturehouse Cinema to watch the new documentary about how graphic design and illustration were impacted by the 'new digital age'. Its about how graphics can now be created manually and digitally along with which the many different artists prefer. There was a main idea that over time after digital is getting almost boring, print (screen printing mostly) way where becoming more popular again. The idea that anyone can screen print and its messy yet fun while being more interactive showed how its becoming a more popular method again these day. Places like 'The Print Club London' work off this idea, they allow anyone to come in and make prints, its an style that dyed out a bit after the internet and different digital means became more accessible but now is coming back. Artist need an interactive starting point to their ideas, manual or digital they need a way of expressing their first thoughts, this could be any where any time. idea come to you and then we have these amazing resources that mean we can play about with them, we can create things using digital we couldn't imagine years ago but also analoge ideas can be as amazing and different too. I felt the film was saying that now digital makes it harder to be seen as everyone can just post they're work anywhere so any audience can see it, i think this is amazing rather than a negative thing. I think that because someone can just post their work they find a new audience that might love it, it allows people to see different styles and pick their favourite rather than just having one to stick to.  The idea that both could be used together and side by side is a more productive way of thinking, both have their advantages and disadvantages allowing them to be used for different things. We should experiment with both because sticking to one just narrows your abilities as a designer, it silly to restrict yourself just because you want to use one style.
