As they had to run for a train i only got chance to discuss my idea briefly but charlotte told me to email or take the project down to Iris and show them the final outcome as they loved the idea potentional. This was massive useful for my practise to get feedback for professional in my future intended field about my current idea and work, it gave me chance to get feedback for specialist advertiser to help improve my current work and that they thought the idea was good was a really motivating to finish and complete the brief to a standard i could show them.
As i'm thinking of going into advertising i also got to ask if it would hold me back that i've done a graphic design course instead, this has been an issue i'd be worried about since realizing that i would like to go into advertising or at least explore this industry and work. Danny and Charlotte explained that in their work it's more about the 'book', the designers portfolio of ideas. They stressed the importance of creating as much work based around advertising as possible to give me an advertising work to show to companies this could be via create briefs around this ares but also about how it's important to show on my behance portfolio ect my ideas in the form of scamps. To shows my ideas, as these are the things that get people jobs in the industry, the main thing the industry look for.
ADVERTISING WANT IDEA, THE IDEA IS THE MAIN FOCUS, get as many idea on my work as possible. (i love this as this is the part of the design process i prefer and enjoy the most :)))
As i'd be really motivated by the talk off Charlotte and Danny as well as their feedback on my project i aim to keep in contact with them after the event, i wasn't sure if charlotte would remember me but as they gave use an email to contact them on so i thought i'd message her. This is to get feedback on my idea and my progress with the project. I also wanted to ask charlotte more, i have so many questions about advertising and her career path because this is a future i want to explore. Using charlotte as the interview for brief 2 would be amazingly useful for me as she's currently doing something and the career path i'd love to explore in a few years.
I GOT A RESPONSE!
After emailing many different professionals i feel this email showed how professionals are more lively to reply to emails and questions if they've meet or have heard about the student more, this is as the email isn't just a generic email but it's speacliased. The more personal emails and the connection i could have the designer the more chance the will reply.
This response also relaxed me largely as emailing Charlotte causes me personally anxiety as i worried about getting ignored again, about how to represent myself, the tone to use and the language to use but her response showed how emails in industry can form a more casual less serious tone can be given to emails rather than the over anaylistaion i'd given the email. Before this sending this i felt really nervous about emails in general but the informal nature of the response as well as charlotte positivity about my work and willing ness to help this allowed me to relax which causes me to become more comfortable with emailing. The industry and contacting professional can be a very scary aspect of this brief but from this i learnt that it doesn't need to be as much of a big deal as i as making the brief into, it can be a relaxed toned email without having bad reflecting tone on myself, this quick response has build my confidence up about emailing and contacting more people.
-TALK TO PEOPLE AFTER TALSK TO GET REMEMBERED
-EMAILS AREN'T AS SCARY AS I THINK, BE MORE CONFINDENT
-EMAIL CHARLOTTE BACK
