PPP- STUDIO BRIEF 1/2 - Kate Moross

Hand Job Manual on Hand Drawn Type

After a session in 404 where we discussed book we liked/that influenced our design practise my tutor told me about an artist called Kate Moross who work is my sort of style type. She create work manual using pens ect then scans the work in to edit it digitally, which reflect my style of interest. Her work was suggested to me as its a more imperfect, messy creative style which contrast most graphic design that organized and simple.

For my book 2 for designs principles i might try to apply a style more like this, this is as i'm more interested in the style of artwork. This is the art/design i like and for our second brief we can create a book based around anything we like therefore i will investiagted this style further. If i create about a subject i like i feel i'll work harder on it and enjoy the set brief more. This will allow me to find my personal style of graphic design more, enhance the work i like to produce and make me enjoy my subject more.

As i like this style of work i might also try to apply this style to my self branding, i will more at using hand type with small illustrations added to create a brand/identity that appeals to me whist reflecting my influences and design style. Create type like this than manual then edited digitally, applying both techniques.
