What are my morals/issues with design? RECYCLING/PAPER WASTE

recycling- one of my major issues with the design industry is that advertising/paper design is often created for a purpose then used then wasted. This create a lot of waste via the design industry, especially paper waste, adverts from gigs adverts, posters, magazines, labels, receipts ect all are created and designed but over time become junk and are wasted. Many people stand outside shopping centres ect giving out leaflet or flyer that get binned by most people, the waste of paper this creates is massive.

As i am passionate about the reuse and recycling of everyday items, saving electricity and over all trying to save the plant for this brief i want to make sure my self branding doesn't create more paper waste. I NEED MY SELF BRANDING TO SHOW I CARE ABOUT PAPER WASTE

recycled paper helps save the environment by causing less waste, less need for trees to be cut down, less damage to the eviroment via ink wastage

 

this paper is also very cheap and easy to access (suitable for this project) 

Issues with this is that if the paper is then wasted again after i have printed on it this doesn't solve my issues of stopping paper waste overall it just helps with the issue also the recycling process does create issues in the environment due to the de-inking process it can result in waste sludge of around 20% by weight of the paper being recycled (same website)

ISSUE - Paper + Ink can never be 100% recycled because the process of removing he ink takes energy/fuel to run the machines therefore this process isnt' 100% effective

Work on other used materials -

this idea is to recycle either old leaflets ect and work on them/cut them up to create my advertisement/self promotion. For this i could collage together used leaflets, use the existing type/work to create a unique style that will help waste whilst creating interesting art work.

ISSUE - this type of typography has very negative connotation with ransom notes, this is the style used in many ransom notes to let the offenders handwriting be kept secret. Because people will associate this style of recycling text with these negative issues people may see any design work created in this style as scary/worrying/violent, these are the opposite of my aims to portray myself because of this style isn't suitable for this brief    

Print Idea /Reuse old leaflets- 

This idea is to create a stamp or a way to print straight onto existing used work/waste paper so that i don't need to print on to new paper causing more waste but can print on to 100% recycled paper, as it will still have the old designs so doesn't need to go through the recycling process which wastes fuel.

This is the most eco friendly idea but also might be the most suitable as it fit with my love of print techniques, therefore reflect my designs interests. Also this links to work i created for a few of my past project where i printed onto existing leaflets rather than new paper for test designs so it didn't create new waste (links to my past). 

ISSUES - how will this be done? will it be clear to read my design printed over existing printed work? how will i make it stand out? will this be practical
