One of the issues i face with create a zine is the editorial design aspect, as i have analysed this from 504 as a personal weakness massively as i personally struggle with create a piece for visual aesthetics over concepts. As a designer i struggle with the look of my pieces, my strong point is the ideas and the concepts (this is why i think advertising will be a future prospect) therefore this part of the zine will be difficult for me but also a good chance to explore more areas i feel i'm personally weak.
As this is an area of weakness to learn more, as inspiration and to inform the design wide research into editorial design and zine design will be conducted. This is to study how it done, how it works, what works, and elements i can apply to this project. Areas i'm uncommon around i learnt last year that more research conducted the more i get to understand, and get influences so i can improve.
As this brief is about the content rather than the design i was considering asking a more specialist designer on the course to help me/design the editorial but i do aim to get better around this area so instead i'm aiming to improve and to greater my knowlegde, hopefully the final outcome will be enhance by this.
After research zine, its been found that most of this have more artistic visually content rather than just type, due to this in the zine produced will include work from the artists themselves to go along side the quotes. This will as the visually aesthetics of the zine whilst also advertising the artists personal style whilst also serving as visual form of inspiration and research rather than just as the quotes. After a range of different zine research layout was conducted a grid system for zine layout was discovered, as i have identified this as a weakness this piece of research will be used as a layout basic guide for the pages. This will help inform the overall design but will be changed and edited to fit with the amount of content but also edited as to fit with my personal preferred layout this book aimed to be used personally so this with fit with what i personally feel works effectively, this research will be used to inform the process but not to be a strict copy.
