After the last failed screenprint for this project the aim is to learn for this and improve, rather than to do what i originally aim for which is to be scared and to pick another print medium as it went wrong i want to redo the brief with changes successful. Screenprint is one of the major resources of uni therefore this si something i should learn and be able to use rather than me scared off.
things learnt from past screen printing fail -
-don't add to much detail
-don't made the design fill an A3 pages this is heard to equally pull though, leaves ink in the screen which then dries or over leaks
-keep the layers simple
-drawn over the laser jet printed design in back pen if it's not printed probably before exposing the
screen
-wet the screen straight after exposure
-measure the paint to medium ratio better
-wait for the screens to dry before changing colour
redesigned pattern (no full edges/bold full shapes)-
print final -
After making the selected and not rushing this print test, the final outcome has actually worked really effectively. This print is similar to the aimed for outcome, it's not yet perfect but a drastic improvement from my last print therefore i fell this print is off a quailty i can enter and show at the exhibition. Even thought this process has been incredibly time consuming, i feel i've learn largely for the mistakes made earlier and due to this have managed to make a successful outcome. Last year i would have avoid the medium and used something else after it failed but instead this year i forced myself to redo the brief and because of this my work was enhanced and benefitted, this has showed that if something goes wrong i should analyses why, how and then what i can do to fix it before trying again rather than just leaving the weakness. IMPROVE RATHER THAN AVIOD
