PPP - STUDIO BRIEF 1/2 - Laser Cut Stamp

Laser Cut Stamp

For my self branding one of my idea for a final outcome in replace of a business card is to create a stamp that can be used to apply my created logo to any environment/material/situation. This is as its more environmentally friendly, directly interactive, personal, uses older manual techniques, and each time the stamp will be slightly imperfect like my work. Its used to reflect my interest in stamp making/ hand craft work, recycling and also my love of guerrilla adverting which links to how in my design work i try to create a unique/smarter/different creative solutions.

One of the ways i was interested in for how to create my stamp was laser cutting it out of recycled wood, this was going to be a very difficult way to create it as i only had 3 weeks left for the brief and laser cut induction where fully booked (can only use the machine after a safety induction). But a girl in my class had an induction and offered to help me create the stamps  but first i needed to mock up my logo in a certain way to it would work.

- lines have to be 1pt ONLY
- black would be cut out, green lines would be engraved
- area surrounded by black would cut out completely
-outline all areas i wanted to cut

benefits of laser cut -
very precise design
once i could use it, i can apply it to other briefs
one of my aims was to learn how to access all the colleges resources
can cut any material
very detailed design possible
