PPP - STUDIO BRIEF 1- Digital Mono Print Edits

Digital Mono Print Edits

After my mono print induction my next aim was to link the print i had created to my 406 studio brief 1, this was so i could use the work i had produced to learn but also to enhance my current professional practise. To do this i had thought about what style on mono print i wanted to create before the workshop then created them in a style i could apply to my brief. My aim was to create repeat pattern that i could then edit digitally to create a outcome that linked to research i had conducted.

This would enhance my learning for mono print but also work with my photoshop skills, use my skills to apply to apply to a brief i'm currently taking part in.

Mono Print Experiments

For this brief an aim was to create different print techniques styles that could be applied in a abstract way to the record sleeve as many design in the research have a psychedelic/ trippy feel that is created but the editing of repeat patterns.

research -

first mono print experiments
as most of these covered are created manually then edited digital i created some mono prints which are inspired by research into the caged feeling created by worry, to reflected the harsh effects with solid triangles and lines to show bars of a cage. Also this geometric style links to my early artist research in to Wild Humms work and the album covers that inspired that research.

Edits
Then i edited them on photoshop digitally to create brighter coloured colour schemes, stronger repeated patterns, more crazy layout styles, over all more crazy psychedelic designs. Then by using the colour schemes from my research into how people would describe love and worry (reds, pinks, blue, cool colours) i related them slightly to the songs meanings and themes.

The final outcomes worked better than i expected as the colours contrasted well to create a image that links to optical illusion style of art that is very current at the moment. But i feel that this is a style that might be to lively for a sad break up song, this was feedback i also received for my peers therefore i will not use these designs.
