Screen Printing Workshop
Today i have a screen printing induction in the over building for uni as well as was shown how to use the materials/equipment in the main building, this was mandatory as needed to be shown how to use the jet wash and light exposure safely before we could use them as they can cause damage to ourself and others. In the first screen print area we were taught the basis of how to prepare a screen, expose it, what paper to use (330 light watts for A4 laser jet prints from normal printers), how to mix the inks, then how to produce a screen print of 3 different layers.

This workshop was really useful as one of my aim of this year was to find somewhere in leeds i could learn and do screenprint, this will allow me to print on to different materials i can't put in printer whilst once the screen is created the process is fast and can produces multi high qualities prints in a small space of time. This will be useful for my money design for 406, Self branding project, DP principles illurustration style book work, and COP practical project.
i plan to go back an do some screen printing next week
